Last year in the Military: Steps to take before your exit!

About the Course

Course description:

If you are in the last year of wearing your military uniform, there are some major things you need to plan before your exit into civilian life. We understand that the government will send you through a week long class “to teach you how to be a civilian”, but you must understand there is much more to think about than a few pamphlets they give you. First, your finances should be the highest priority, and you need to have a basic budget accomplished. During your last year, you should cut back on unused memberships and resist spending unnecessary funds on things of luxury. It’s time for you to think like a poor person until your transition period has ended and you have successfully landed a job as a civilian that takes care of you, and your family if you are in that season of life. Secondly, it’s crucial for you to consider where you will be living, and planning on finding a home. We know that everyone’s situation is different. If you are considering to buying your home upon exiting, it’s crucial to start the process before you exit. When you depart the military, and try to find a purpose driven profession after, lenders will still need to have proof of income in order to purchase your next property. These are just some of the things you need to consider during you last year in the Military. Thank you for your service, and reach out to me for a 1 on 1 for further questions.
